Lucy Tu
Biography
Lucy Tu is an MPhil candidate at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. Her research investigates the global regulation of emerging reproductive technologies, including human genome editing and in vitro fertilization. She is especially interested in how parents and healthcare providers act as moral pioneers in reproductive medicine and law by making everyday decisions about what constitutes a good, healthy, and worthwhile life. Her research project is supervised by Professor Nicole Stremlau and supported by the Rhodes Scholarship.
Lucy completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and History & Science (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) at Harvard University, where she received the Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for excellence in scholarly work. Her research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and Journal of the American Medical Association. Lucy is also a health and science writer, with words in The Guardian, Scientific American, and The Atlantic.
