Funding opportunity for postdoctoral research at the IECL
The Institute of European and Comparative Law (IECL) at the University of Oxford is offering to host an international postdoctoral researcher under the British Academy International Fellowships scheme for two years.
This is an opportunity for early career researchers to conduct research in comparative law and/or European law at Oxford under the supervision of an academic of the IECL core team. In line with the scheme guidelines, it is open to applicants who have been working outside the UK for at least a year and are not UK citizens. They must have completed their doctorate within the last seven years or will complete it before the project start date.
Under this scheme, the successful applicant will be employed by the University of Oxford (full-time or part-time). The project will have to start between October 2024 and March 2025. In addition to the salary, research expenses of up to £12,000 and relocation costs of up to £8,000 will be covered. Visa applications via the accelerated route for a Global Talent Visa will be possible and the costs will be covered.
To discuss the possibility to join the IECL through this scheme, please email the IECL Administrator by 9 February 2024. Please include your CV and list of publications (up to two pages), a statement on how you meet the scheme’s eligibility criteria, a brief description of your proposed project and why you want to conduct it at the IECL (up to two pages), and the name of your proposed IECL supervisor. Once support has been agreed, the IECL and the Research services team will facilitate the application to the British Academy. Enquiries are also welcome for next year’s cycle.
