About the Event

Peter will be presenting his work-in-progress paper on 'All marriages are equal, but some are more equal than others! Transgender annulment provisions in England and Wales', which is co-authored by Alan Brown. The paper examines the unique vulnerabilities faced by trans individuals in the context of marriage in England and Wales. In particular, it will discuss provisions of the Marriage (Same-Sex Couples) Act 2013, considering the extent to which the current law is justified as a matter of policy, consistent with general principles of English family law, and potentially in violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Peter's presentation will be followed by comments from Jonathan Herring, and a Q&A Session.

If you are interested in reading the paper, you can reach out and request a copy by emailing Peter.
