Senior Administrator, Intellectual Property Law

The Faculty of Law invites applications for the position of Senior Intellectual Property Law Administrator, a one-year position to cover the role of the current postholder who is seconded to another role in the University.  The position may be taken as a fixed-term post or a secondment.   The Senior Intellectual Property Law Administrator will be responsible for the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice, the new MSc in Intellectual Property, and the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre (‘OIPRC’), working closely on a day-to-day basis with the Diploma and Centre Directors. The post holder will report to the Academic Administrator in the Law Faculty.

Applicants must have a good level of education, preferably to degree level; experience of working at a similar level in a broadly comparable role; excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously, to meet deadlines, to work effectively under pressure and bring tasks to a successful conclusion ; a flexible approach to work, including a willingness to work a small number of weekends and evenings each year; strong negotiation skills, able be assertive and diplomatic when dealing with colleagues under pressure.

This is a full time, fixed term role until 2 January 2024.  There are times of the year when the postholder will be required to work their hours very flexibly.  For example, the postholder will be asked to work a small number of Saturdays per year, and will be required to work additional hours during some busy periods: the admissions and examination periods, during the two-week Residential Programme in the first half of September, the week of the annual IP Moot competition, and also on the odd occasion when it may be necessary to travel to London.
