The Sata Foundation Oxford ICJ Fellowship Award

The Sata Foundation Oxford ICJ Fellowship Award is awarded annually thanks to a generous gift made by Mr Yasuhiko Sata, Chairman of the TKB Group specializing in medical devices with its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and Chairman of the Swiss-based Sata Foundation whose mission is to enhance the understanding among peoples of all cultures, religions and beliefs of the value of peace and respect for human rights as well as to support better and affordable healthcare for all.

The Sata Foundation Oxford ICJ Fellowship Award is awarded in the memory of the late Dr Michael Aris, senior research fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford, who was Mr Sata’s close friend, and on the advice of Judge Kriangsak Kittichaisaree of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea who has very close ties with the international law community at Oxford.
