Zoe Roberts
Border Criminologies
Biography
Zoe Roberts completed her undergraduate degree in modern foreign languages at the University of Edinburgh, receiving first class honours and distinction. Later, she volunteered at refugee camps in Greece and there she heard first-hand people’s experiences and the difficulty of reaching Europe. Zoe began her Master’s degree in Criminology at the University of Cambridge and sought out an opportunity to direct her research towards borders and migration. With the guidance of her supervisor, Dr Paolo Campana, she looked into the online discourse surrounding these issues and in particular, human smuggling. Zoe has since worked on a research project at the Institute of Criminology in Cambridge, also with a focus on migration.
