Wenjie Xu

Wenjie is a DPhil Law candidate at Mansfield College, University of Oxford. Prior to his study at Oxford, Wenjie completed a Master of Laws degree at Tsinghua University, China. He also holds a BA in literature and an LLB. Wenjie has received many scholarships awarded by Tsinghua University and other institutes.

Wenjie has broad research interest in comparative constitutional law and constitutional theory. His doctroral thesis, supervised by Professor Nicholas Barber, examines the Chinese conceptions and practices of sovereignty in the context of Hong Kong. His other works cover topics such as constitutional review, popular sovereignty, and political constitutionalism. Wenjie has published paper on Chinese Yearbook of Constitutional Law (《中国宪法年刊》).
