Biography

Sumedha Choudhury is a PhD candidate at the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. Sumedha’s doctoral thesis focuses on the issue of statelessness in the context of postcolonial states, primarily focusing on India. Sumedha holds an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford and an LLM from South Asian University. She previously worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in India in the Refugee Status Determination (RSD) Unit.
