Biography

Sondra Anton is currently a graduate student in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. Her dissertation is centered on the International Criminal Court’s approach to complementarity in its preliminary examinations, with a special case study in Colombia. Before coming to Oxford, she completed her undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, and also studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile. Her area of focus is international human rights law, specifically justice and accountability in post-conflict societies. She has experience living and working in South America, and also has a regional focus in Sri-Lanka. She has previously interned with Human Rights Watch, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Stanford Law School’s Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Clinic, and the Anne Frank Foundation in Amsterdam. Currently, Sondra is also on the Executive Committee of the Oxford Transitional Justice Group.
