Biography
| Samantha (she/her) is a PhD candidate in criminology at the University of Melbourne and concurrently a graduate research teaching fellow (2022) within the Faculty of Arts. Her PhD research explores uncertain migration status, family violence and immigration law and policy in Australia. Samantha completed an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Oxford (Distinction) and is also a qualified solicitor, completing her Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of International Relations at the Australian National University (ANU). Samantha previously practised as a lawyer with Financial Rights Legal Centre in Sydney. She also has experience as a research assistant on projects with the Comparative Network on Refugee Externalisation Policies, the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre, the International State Crime Initiative and ANU College of Law. |
