Biography

Ritika Goyal is a law student at National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, India. Her research interests lie primarily in the area of international human rights law, criminal justice system, mental health laws and other matters of public policy. As a research assistant to Ms. Maja Daruwala, she has worked extensively on police and prison reforms, illegal detention and custodial violence. She has also interned with international research organisations and reputed Indian think tanks such as Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, Columbia Global Freedom of Expression, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) and Project 39A. She has written for well known national and international blogs on diverse areas including refugee and queer rights. Previously, she has worked as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha and Prof. Dipika Jain on different projects on CEDAW, women’s rights, judicial diversity and health law.
