Pip Coore
Biography
Pip is a DPhil Candidate in Law. Her doctoral thesis considers the utility and validity of family care agreements. Pip's research focuses on contract law, equity, trusts and succession law.
Pip holds a MSt in Legal Research from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Queensland University of Technology. Pip also holds a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Communication, majoring in Public Relations, from the University of Queensland. In 2013, Pip was a Visiting Junior Academic to the Oxford Institute of Population and Ageing at the University of Oxford. During this time, her research focused on Elder Law, particularly the difficulties older people face in obtaining legal protection against financial elder abuse under the guardianship regime in Queensland.
Pip has served as the MCR President of St Edmund Hall, NSE Student Representative of St Edmund Hall, Associate Editor and Editor of the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal (OUCLJ). Pip was also the Convenor of the Children's and Family Law Discussion Group.
Pip was the Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Edelman of the High Court of Australia. She has also worked as a Lecturer for the College of Law’s LLM (Applied Law) programme and as a lawyer at an international law firm.
