Biography
Professor Paul Jensen is the Deputy Dean (Faculty) at the Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Melbourne. He is an industrial economist who specialises in the economics of innovation, science and technology policy. He has published in prestigious international journals and participates regularly in policy debates as illustrated by his submission to Government reviews and his publications in the popular press and his role as an expert panel member on the Australian Federal Government’s National Innovation Systems Review and WIPO’s Roundtable on “IP and SMEs”. As a member of the inter-disciplinary research team IPRIA, he has also frequently collaborated with legal scholars including work undertaken for the OECD on research use of patented knowledge. He was part of the scientific committee for the European Policy on Intellectual Property (EPIP) conference held at Oxford in Sept 2016. He is also a previous recipient of funds from Strengthening Efficiency and Competitiveness in the European Knowledge Economies (SEEK) Grant Scheme. He has served as a referee for the Flemish Science Foundation and the British Council and has spent time on study leave in Italy, Belgium, Japan, Germany and the UK.
