Nina Keese

Researcher on the British Academy Global Professorship Grant

Biography

Nina Keese is a researcher on the British Academy Global Professorship project on ‘Addressing the Digital Realm through the Grammar of Human Rights Law’ at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights. Before joining the Institute, she worked as a legal consultant with the Turkey Human Rights Litigation Support Project (TLSP) (Middlesex University), a group of academics, human rights lawyers and researchers providing support and legal resources for Turkish litigators, as well as taking strategic cases to international human rights courts to respond to the current human rights crisis in Turkey.

Nina has carried out independent research on online manipulation and the right to freedom of thought, and has completed traineeships at the European Court of Human Rights and the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in European and International Human Rights Law from Leiden University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in English Law with French Law from University College London (UCL).
