Nikki Obernik

Nikki has a background in General Medicine and holds the Licentiate Degree in General Medicine (2020). He is currently a student at the Open University, pursuing the Bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Sociology), and plans to start studying for his doctoral degree as well. His main interest is in how migration policies affect migrants’ wellbeing and create social harms, which is grounded in his personal experiences of the challenges of migration from a non-EU country to the EU. Nikki is also active as an activist, being a member of the Finnish department of Amnesty International. The focus of his activism is refugees’ and migrants’ rights.
