Biography

María Jesús is a Criminology DPhil at Oxford's Centre for Criminology. Her dissertation project lays in the intersections of technology, policing and human rights in Latin America. Particularly, she is assessing the effects that body worn cameras has in Chilean police's practices, rationalising processes and legitimacy. Her research will be developed from a mix standpoint, combining individual motivations, affections, agency and social factors, steaming from sociological and anthropological theories.

María Jesús holds a BA in Social Anthropology, a BA in Archaeology, both from Universidad de Chile, and a Master in Public Administration in Development, Technology and Innovation Policy from University College London.
