Biography
Mari Kita's research interests include families and crime, collateral consequences of social control, crime and deviance in Asia, and feminist criminology. She is particularly interested in looking at the repercussions of criminal justice contact on female relatives of offenders and how women often become pressured to work as a proxy for agents of control, aiding the very system that marginalizes their kin and intimates. https://www.eiu.edu/sociology/faculty.php?id=mkita&subcat=
