Biography
Dr Markson joined the Institute in 2009 as a Research Assistant working on the Fathers in Prison study (http://www.crim.cam.ac.uk/research/fathers_in_prison/). Subsequently, she was awarded an ESRC funded studentship and obtained a PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Cambridge. She continued as a Research Associate on the ESRC funded third wave of the Fathers in Prison study (now called the Fathers and Imprisonment Research - FAIR - study (https://www.fair.crim.cam.ac.uk/). Dr Markson’s recent research focusses on the impact of paternal imprisonment on families. She is also interested in the role of psychology in prisons.
Dr Markson is also a practicing forensic psychologist.
