Liyuan Yu

Biography

Liyuan Yu is a Ph.D. candidate at Peking University Law School and a recognised student at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. Her doctoral research focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) risk-based governance. Based on a comparative study of normative documents and proposed empirical fieldwork conducted in the UK and China, her research aims to explain how AI risk-based governance functions and its impacts on international law.

Liyuan holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an LL.B. from Wuhan University. Prior to her Ph.D., she worked in law firms. Her research interests include Law and Technology, International Law, Conflict of Laws, and AI Governance. Her recent project focuses on the development and application of AI in transnational legal affairs.
