Liv S. Gaborit

Liv is a PhD student at Roskilde University, Department of Social Sciences and Business and DIGNITY (Danish Institute Against Torture), department of Preventing Torture in Places of Detention. She holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Copenhagen University and has studied Global Refugee Studies at Aalborg University. She specialises in prison research from a social psychological perspective, connecting societal structures to individual experiences. Her work is focused on prisons in the global south, with involvement in the Philippines, Sierra Leone and the MENA region. Currently, she is working on her PhD on experiences of imprisonment in Myanmar.
