Biography

Lisa Akhtar is a qualified Social Sciences teacher working in an inner London school whilst undertaking a distance learning PhD in Criminology at the University of Leicester. 

Her research focusses on the impact of imprisonment on the families of prisoners convicted under Joint Enterprise serving indeterminate sentences.

Her previous research experience has been within secondary schools exploring cultural capital, raising the achievement of low prior attainers at key stage 5, and investigating how to support Recently Qualified Teachers.
