Biography
Lea received her BSc Sociology at the University of Bristol, her MSc in Comparative Social Policy (Research) at the University of Oxford and an ESRC-funded DPhil at the University of Oxford’s Criminology department. Lea’s thesis examined migration control and the exploitability of migrant workers in the construction and restaurant industries of the UK and Germany. The thesis is currently in the process of being transformed into a book on comparative immigration policy for Routledge. Lea is also trustee for the Habeas Corpus Project: a charity that provides pro-bono legal representation in challenging the unlawful detention of individuals in the UK.
