Biography

Frances Timberlake has been working with displaced communities on the northern French coastline since 2016, as an activist, researcher and policy campaigner. Frances is currently working as the UK advocacy officer at Refugee Rights Europe, focusing specifically on UK accountability at its shared border with France. This follows several years doing community work with women and families based in the informal living settlements in Calais and Dunkerque. She is the runner up of the 2020 Border Criminologies Dissertation Prize. This dissertation was written in August 2019 as part of her MA in International Human Rights Law at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
