Biography

Fatmanur Delioglu is a PhD candidate at the Department of Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, where she also serves as a PhD Support Officer within the Migration, Mobilities, and Social Politics cluster. With a comprehensive academic background, Fatmanur completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations at Yildiz Technical University in 2016, focusing her research on the integration process of Syrian Refugee Women in the Fatih District of Istanbul. She furthered her studies with a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University, where her thesis explored Syrian Refugee Women's Solidarity Networks Through Kitchens. Throughout her academic journey, Fatmanur has contributed to various research projects and internships, including roles at the Gender and Diversity Institute in Kiel, Germany, the Istanbul Policy Center, and the Migration Research Center at Koc University (MiReKoc). Additionally, she participated in a research project analyzing Turkish media coverage of Syrian refugees at Lund University and contributed as a researcher to a project on place and belonging at The Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Turkey (TUBITAK) in 2020. She has been working at the Global Adversity and Wellbeing Research Group at Wilfrid Laurier University as a Graduate Research Assistant since 2022. Her research interests encompass critical border studies, refugee solidarity networks, resistance, gender, and border technologies.
