Biography

I am an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Oxford, specializing in Tibetan legal and political history. I received my PhD in Tibetan & Himalayan Studies from Oxford as a Leverhulme Scholarship holder and 2023 Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Dissertation Fellow in Buddhist Studies. Prior to Oxford, I completed my baccalaureate and MA in Indology and Central Asian Studies at Leipzig University, Germany.

My doctoral research examined Tibetan experiences under Mongol rule in the 13th century, revealing complex interactions between local governance, religious traditions, social processes, and bureaucratic practices during this transformative period. My current work focuses on the zhal lce, a unique corpus of Tibetan legal texts, investigating their creation, reception, and historical impact across Tibet.
