Biography

 

Cara Jardine's research focuses on prisons and the wider effects of punishment, and explores how imprisonment impacts upon families and communities. She is especially interested in how contact with the criminal justice system may reproduce or exacerbate existing inequalities, and the implications of this for citizenship, legitimacy and social justice. She also has an interest in innovative, creative and collaborative research methods, and the connections between research, activism and penal reform.
