Ashita Alag

Ashita is a DPhil in Law candidate and an Oxford-Farthing scholar at Pembroke College, Oxford. Her research focuses on sexual violence laws and the Indian feminist movement. Specifically, she studies feminist responses to the idea of gender-neutrality in rape law.

Before starting the DPhil, she completed her LL.M. from Harvard Law School where she took courses on feminist legal theory, sex equality and legal history. Ashita has also served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of India assisting the social justice bench of the court on matters related to rights of sexual violence victims, environmental law, child rights among others.
