Ali McGinley

Ali is Director of AVID (Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees), the national network for volunteer visitors to immigration detention in the UK. She is Chair of the Detention Monitoring Group, a regular meeting for voluntary organisations working inside detention centres across the UK. Ali has an MSc in Public Policy from the University of Bristol and has written widely on volunteer visiting in places of detention.
