Adrija Ghosh

Biography

Adrija Ghosh is studying for a DPhil in Law, working under the supervision of Professor Catherine O’Regan. Her thesis studies minority cultural rights under the Indian Constitution. She read for the BCL at Oxford before moving on to the DPhil and has an undergraduate degree from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS). At Oxford, she co-convenes the Bonavero Graduate Discussion Forum. Her studies are funded by the Rhodes Scholarship. 

Adrija previously worked as a researcher at Project 39A, National Law University, Delhi, where she conducted research on capital sentencing in India. Her work has been published in the Indian Law Review, the Asian Yearbook of Human Rights, and a special issue of the Oxford Human Rights Hub Journal. She has also served on the editorial board of the Journal of Indian Law and Society and been a Junior Associate member of the NUJS Law Review. Her research interests lie in the areas of constitution law and theory, legal history, discrimination law, and criminal law and justice.
