Part-time Project Manager for the Review of the Undergraduate Law Degree

Grade 6:  £32,332-£38,205 per annum pro rata

The Law Faculty is looking to appoint an Administrator to help support the review of Undergraduate courses which began in Trinity Term 2024.  The primary duty of the role will be to function as the administrative lead and project manager for the Undergraduate Review Working Group, full details of which are given in the further particulars.  The Administrator will report to the Academic Administrator (Undergraduates) and will work closely with the Associate Dean for Undergraduates (‘AD(UG)’). 

The postholder will prepare the review timetable and organise scheduling; act as the first point of contact for enquiries about the review;  advise the Working Group on aspects of governance structures and policies of the Collegiate University which relate to the work of the Group and to the Undergraduate degree more generally; Conducting research as required by the Working Group -  to include internal research (e.g. data and information from past academic years of the programme) and research about other institutions and the legal sector.  For full details of the role, please consult the further particulars.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or hold a broadly equivalent academic or professional qualification; capable of understanding university regulations and faculty policy, with a view to functioning as the principal source of advice for the Group on such matters, and to applying that understanding in the production of reports and other documentation; confidence in handling, interpreting and presenting data in appropriate formats; proven administrative and project management experience at a similar level, with excellent attention to detail; a proactive approach, in keeping with the role’s status as administrative lead, and a capacity to use own initiative and judgement  to determine priorities and manage their own work and the work of the Group more generally.  The ability to demonstrate tact and discretion, particularly when dealing with sensitive and confidential information and sympathy for the academic objectives of the Law Faculty and the wider University is desirable.

The work is offered on a part time basis (0.5 FTE). However, the hours may need to be spread unevenly across the period of appointment.  The role is fixed term for 12 months and would be an ideal secondment or career development opportunity.
