Hin Liu

Biography

Hin is a DPhil candidate at Linacre College, Oxford. His primary research area lies in the private law aspects of digital and crypto assets.

Hin has published in peer-reviewed law journals since the age of 19, and his publications cover the fields of digital assets, trusts, commercial, contract, tort, land, unjust enrichment, labour, civil procedure, constitutional and criminal law.

He has extensive experience in the digital asset industry. He spent two years as a legal and business consultant at a blockchain securities exchange, and frequently advises governments and entities on legal and regulatory issues relating to digital assets. He has experience in drafting national laws concerning virtual assets, and is also a sub-group member of the UNIDROIT Working Group on Digital Assets and Private Law.

Hin holds an LLB from the University of Hong Kong (First Class, top graduate) and spent a year of his degree at the University of Cambridge. He also holds a BCL (Distinction and subject prize) and an MPhil in Law (Distinction) from the University of Oxford, a PCLL from the University of Hong Kong, and a Blockchain Executive Education Certificate from the University of California, Berkeley.
