Biography

Dr Katharine Hoeger is a UKRI 'What Works' Policy Fellow (ESRC Funded) working with the College of Policing 'Measuring Harm for Violence Against Women and Girls Social Research Fellowship'. The Fellowship will focus on the issue of how to measure and operationalise ‘harm’ using police data in relation to domestic abuse and other crimes that disproportionately affect women and girls.

She also works as a Senior Research Fellow for the National Policing Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme (VKPP) on the a project analysing domestic homicides and suspected victim suicides following domestic abuse in England and Wales. She previously completed her DPhil at the Centre for Criminology examining the police response to the criminalisation of coercive control.
