OLBA launches Changemakers interview series

OLBA Changemakers is a new series which features members of the OLBA Network in conversation with people who have inspired and influenced transformative change both locally and internationally at the helm of social justice, racial equality, and human rights.

This series will contribute to an ongoing and vital discussion on these themes, both within and outside the University, and help to further solidify the foundations of the OLBA Network.

The first interview features Patrice Wellesley-Cole in conversation with Seun Matiluko.

Patrice Wellesley-Cole became both the youngest and the first elected African Vice-President of the International Federation of University Women in 1989. Patrice served as a judge from 2002-17, with jurisdiction covering immigration and asylum and deportation, human rights, bail, and EU cases.

Seun Matiluko is the founder of OLBA, a British author, journalist, poet and researcher in law, race and politics.

The second and third interviews of the series will feature:

Edwin Cameron, former Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, in conversation with Seun Matiluko. Edwin is well known for his HIV/AIDS and gay-rights activism and was hailed by Nelson Mandela as "one of South Africa's new heroes".

Afua Hirsch, writer, broadcaster and former barrister, in conversation with Seun Matiluko. Afua was listed as the ninth-most influential person of African or African Caribbean heritage in the United Kingdom in the 2021’s Powerlist.
