2020 Distinguished Book Award won by former CSLS student
Dr Anna High, of the University of Otago, has won the 2020 Distinguished Book Award from the Asian Law and Society Association. Using field studies and in-depth interviews across rural and urban China, the book presents a socio-legal analysis of non-state organised care for some of China's most vulnerable children.
The book is based on Dr High's DPhil in Socio-Legal Studies, which was supervised by Professor Fernanda Pirie of the CSLS and Professor Rachel Murphy of the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies.
