Notes from the Field: Myanmar
Second year DPhil student Alvin Hung is currently conducting fieldwork in a Chinese-invested garment factory in Myanmar. His research uses the concept of ‘legal culture’ as lens to explore cultural differences and intercultural dispute resolution between Chinese managers and Burmese workers. Alvin employs ethnographic research methods, and he is residing in the factory to interview factory staff and observe factory operation on a daily basis.
Alvin is just one of our students currently conducting fieldwork abroad; please click here to see more information on our students.
