Jonathan Herring appointed to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority

Professor of Law, Jonathan Herring has been appointed as a Member to the HFEA.   Members are non staff members who are appointed to bring an objective point of view to the HFEA's board and committees.

He teaches medical law and ethics, family law and criminal law. He has written extensively in all of these areas and his recent books have focused on legal issues around caring and vulnerability.  

Jonathan says
I am thrilled to be appointed to become a member the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.  
The HFEA board meets regularly throughout the year to discuss and determine policy and practice. I hope my expertise in medical and family law will be used to assist in the work of the HFEA which has a world wide reputation of excellence in promoting high quality fertility treatment.  

He became a member of the Authority on 18 July 2018 and his first term runs until 17 July 2021.
