Dapo Akande Speaks at UK Government’s International Law Conference

Dapo Akande addressed over 130 UK government lawyers at the opening session of the inaugural International Law Conference organised by the Government Legal Service and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on 14 July. Speaking with the Attorney General Dominic Grieve (on what turned out to be his last day in office), in a session chaired by the Legal Adviser to the Foreign Office, Ian McLeod, Dapo examined the 'Foundations of International Law'. The conference was attended by lawyers from right across the UK government, including the FCO, the Ministry of Defence, the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Crown Prosecution Office.
