Speaker(s)
John Hendy QC and Steve Turner
John Hendy QC and Steve Turner's discussion title is The Trade Union Bill: Politics, and the Rule of Law, and will offer important critical insights on the forthcoming Trade Union Bill, from two different, but complementary perspectives. Steve Turner will be discussing the politics behind the Bill, and the Unions' response to it. And John Hendy will discuss legal aspects of the Bill from a legal, particularly international law, perspective. This will provide for a fascinating and contextualised reflection on the politico-legal mechanics of this controversial legislation, and the material impact of those mechanics on the law.
