Supporting distressed businesses during the COVID-19 crisis: the view from Germany
This is the first in a series of online events considering the policy response to business distress induced by COVID-19 trading disruption. The series is part of a broader project, COVID-19, public policy and commercial law, funded by the COVID-19 Research Response Fund.
This event will focus on the policy response in Germany. Three speakers will offer their reflections on the German policy response to an anticipated wave of business bankruptcies associated with the COVID-19 crisis, identifying which aspects of the policy response worked well, and which less well, and offering predictions on the ways in which the policy response might permanently alter German commercial law.
The event will be chaired by Professor Horst Eidenmueller. The speakers are:
- Prof. Dr. Stephan Madaus, University of Halle-Wittenberg
- Dr Cristina Weidner, Clifford Chance (Frankfurt)
- Dr Christian Herweg, Hogan Lovells (Munich)
The event is open to the public and there is no registration fee, but places are limited. Register here.
Please note that the event will be recorded and the proceedings made publicly available online afterwards.
