Please join us for this week's session of the​​ Socio-Legal Discussion Group that will ​take ​place ​on ​​Thursday, ​​the 9th of February (Week ​4​), 12.30-2pm, Seminar Room F, Manor Road Building.

We will screen '​​Somos', a participative documentary made by ​​Elena Butti as part of her ethnographic fieldwork with adolescents in a rural town in (post-)conflict Colombia.​ ​Please find the movie's trailer here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT_BqPT9E-U​.

In the first part of the session, Elena will introduce the movie and will talk about how it relates to her research into ​​experiences of conflict-affected children and adolescents in the transitional justice and peace-building process in Colombia​. ​

​​​​Elena is a ​3rd-year ​DPhil candidate in Socio-Legal Studies at​ the University of​ Oxford.​ and she has just completed a year-and-a-half-long field research in Colombia. Elena's background is in law and anthropology. ​​

​Please note that this session is likely to run for slightly longer than our regular sessions, which is why we have booked Seminar Room F between 12.30 and 2pm.
