Screening of 'Roma'
The Oxford Living Wage Campaign is hosting a screening of the award-winning 2018 film, 'Roma'. Starring Oaxacan actress Yalitza Aparicio and directed by BAFTA award-winner Alfonso Cuaron, Roma is an intimate drama that follows the life of a Mixtec live-in maid who works for an upper-middle-class family in Mexico City. Set in the early 1970s, the film poignantly explores class, race, and gender dynamics as well as the dignity of work in stunning black-and-white cinematography. Roma has been hailed as an "epic of tearjerking magnificence" in The Guardian and won two Golden Globes, four BAFTAs, and ten Academy Award nominations. Light refreshments will be served.
