The anticompetitive effects of parallel equity holdings by institutional investors is a highly controversial topic in the present academic debate. This presentation discusses the potential anticompetitive effects of parallel ownership from a comparative perspective and in the light of the peculiarities and institutional complementarities that characterize the EU economic system. It discusses the desirability of EU policies for investigating and eventually intervening in this domain.

A sandwich lunch will be available from 12.30. The meeting will begin at 1pm.
