Impact Assessments in European Contract Law: 1st Expert Round Table

The two-day Expert Round Table on impact assessments in European contract law asks what should be expected of policy analysis in EU impact assessments in European contract law. Bringing together officials and experts on EU contract law and EU impact assessments from different disciplines and jurisdictions, this Expert Round Table will focus on soft instruments designed to enhance impact assessments, including the European Commission’s 2015 Better Regulation Guidelines, national and international Guidelines. The Round Table will compare these guidelines to EU and national experiences with impact assessments, contrast current practices in EU law and national law with best practices and explore which actors are best placed to realise improvement of impact assessments.

Confirmed speakers include Professor A. Meuwese (Tilburg University), Professor H. Micklitz (European University Institute), Professor S. Weatherill (Somerville College, University of Oxford)  and Mr Herbert (Director, Regulatory Scrutiny Board).
