In his talk, Sean Hagan, former General Counsel of the IMF, will discuss how the IMF has helped shape international monetary and financial law in an environment where countries have been increasingly unwilling to surrender sovereignty through substantive treaty obligations, forcing the iMF to rely on alternative legal frameworks, including soft law, procedural law and private law.
