The agenda

• Welcome and introduction from Andrew Austin (Graduate recruitment partner)
• Working as an LGBT lawyer
We will cover topics such as how the firm’s LGBT network, Halo, and allies network, Halo Champions, work, and some of the experiences that members of those networks have had during their time here.
• Responsible Business: our work on global LGBT rights
Our firm is committed to doing business in a way that is ethical and sustainable. As part of that, many colleagues from across our network are working on projects that are designed to help improve LGBT rights around the world. We will focus on our pro bono work for the Human Dignity Trust, a charity which challenges the criminalisation of consensual homosexuality; our submission to the UK’s All Party Parliamentary Group on global LGBT rights; and on our work in Japan on marriage equality.
• Questions to the panel
Ask questions to the Freshfields panel about being LGBT in the City, what it’s like working at an international law firm more generally, and about the process for applying for a workshop, vacation scheme or training contract.
• Networking and drinks
