Notes & Changes

If you wish to attend the meeting, please email equalityanddiversity@law.ox.ac.uk for details.

The Equality and Diversity Committee (EDC) is the sub-committee of Law Board responsible for monitoring equality and diversity in the Faculty, and for making proposals to Law Board on policies concerning equality and diversity. The Committee is a forum for Faculty Officers to report on their activities in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion (which will also be forwarded to the Law Board with the minutes) and for students to raise matters of concern.

This particular meeting of the Committee will discuss the Faculty's Athena Swan Bronze Renewal Application due in May 2022. The Athena Swan Charter and certification is a framework that is used across the globe to support and transform gender equality within higher education (HE) and research. In 2017, the Faculty became one of the first law faculties in the UK to be awarded an Athena Swan Bronze Certificate and, as the certificate period comes to an end, it is time for us to reflect on progress to date and draft new commitments for the next five years.

The Committee would like to encourage all staff and student members of the Faculty to join us for this discussion and to input your views on our proposals.

If you would like to join the meeting, please contact the Committee's Secretary, Clara Elod, at equalityanddiversity@law.ox.ac.uk.

All Committee meetings are open and any student or member of the Faculty may attend. Meeting dates and previous meeting minutes can be found on the Equality and Diversity microsite.
