About the Book

The authors have provided the first in-depth commentary and analysis of the UNICITRAL Rules on Transparency in Treaty-Based Investor-State Arbitration. These Rules are one of the most recent and innovative developments in international law. The commentary focuses on the application of these Rules beyond the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and proposes to analyse the issue of transparency in Investment law more broadly. It draws on the history of individual provisions and explains previous disputes and practices that have influenced the Rules. All contributing authors have a strong background in investment arbitration, from both practice and academia. Each author is specialised in a field of arbitration related to the particular chapter that he or she covered in this book project.
