One Essex Court: Women at the Commercial Bar Mentoring Scheme

One Essex Court is launching a mentoring scheme to provide one-to-one support and guidance for aspiring barristers.

One Essex Court is launching a mentoring scheme to provide one-to-one support and guidance for aspiring barristers. This is a unique opportunity for students interested in the Commercial Bar to connect with a female barrister who can share her experiences and provide career guidance.

The scheme will run during the 2019/2020 academic year. Each mentee will be paired with a female barrister from One Essex Court as a mentor. The scheme includes:

• One-to-one meetings with your mentor through the course of the year (in person or virtual)
• A skills afternoon to build on application and interview skills to be held in London currently anticipated for 10 January 2020
• A summer drinks party for all mentors and mentees at Chambers in London

Applications are open to all students at any stage of university in any discipline. We welcome applications from students of any gender, and we particularly welcome applications from students from groups under-represented at the Commercial Bar.
