Peter Mirfield steps down as editor of the Law Quarterly Review
After over a decade of dedicated service Peter Mirfield has stepped down as editor of the Law Quarterly Review. The Faculty congratulates Peter on his tenure and thanks him for his work on behalf of the legal community in the UK and beyond.
Peter, Emeritus Professor of the Law of Evidence at Jesus College, has been Editor of the Law Quarterly Review since 2014.
In his final editorial he reflects on the unique nature of the Law Quarterly Review in bringing together the academic and practising sides of the legal profession. He concludes his farewell by expressing ‘what a pleasure and a privilege it has been to hold this extremely important post’. It is a post that he has held with distinction and dedication.
The Law Quarterly Review provides authoritative and critical analysis on a broad range of legal issues and its articles are frequently cited as sources of influence by courts across the world. It was founded in 1885 and has had only 6 editors during this period.
He will be succeeded as editor by Professor Ewan McKendrick, Emeritus Professor of English and Private Law.
