COMBAR/Oxford Faculty of Law Scholarships

The Commercial Bar Association (COMBAR) and the Faculty of Law are delighted to share that the COMBAR/Oxford Faculty of Law Scholarship will be available for one BCL candidate in 2025. The scholarship, which covers fees and maintenance, is available to a BCL student of Black and Mixed Black ethnicity who has a serious intent to pursue a career at the commercial bar of England and Wales.

The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to join COMBAR's new mentoring scheme to assist with the process of applying to and thriving at the Commercial Bar, and will gain access to the additional opportunities offered by Oxford University’s Black Academic Futures initiative.

Luke Rostill, Director of the BCL & MJur and Associate Professor of Property Law, said: "I am delighted that COMBAR have agreed to extend their support for this vital scholarship for a further year and enable a talented scholar to access the unique educational experience of the BCL course at Oxford. We look forward to welcoming the 2025-26 COMBAR/Oxford scholar to the BCL next year".
